Teach children the world of 3D thinking and tinkering.

A lifelong learning programme and sub programme Comenius from Erasmus+
Period: 2013 – 2015

Schools and design centres from Germany, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Sweden worked together on a teaching method on how to teach children the fun of creating, techniques and tinkering by use of the extra tool: the 3d printer.

Our partnership worked together to learn about recent developments in 3D technology.

3D Comenius is an Erasmus+ project in which schools collaborated with designers, design centers, and science centers from Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. Teachers and designers jointly developed a teaching method for incorporating 3D printing into lessons. House of Design established this European project in collaboration with the Province of Friesland.

Abstract Ability and Spatial Insight
Children often don’t realize they have a talent for technology and that they have a creative side. Sometimes this is so hidden that even the teacher doesn’t recognize it. By having children work with 3D printers, it quickly becomes clear whether they possess abstract abilities and/or spatial insight.
